David Boardman is the founder, former CEO and managing partner of Dynamic Brands, a global branded consumer product company competing in the golf and juvenile industries. In 1998, Mr. Boardman took over a distressed golf company called Bag Boy, which manufactured golf pull carts. After growing the business substantially through innovative product development and an intense focus on customer service, the company acquired the Baby Jogger stroller company out of bankruptcy in 2003. At that time, Dynamic Brands was formed as a holding company for the two businesses. In 2009, Dynamic Brands acquired the assets of Forefront out of bankruptcy, which included several iconic brands in the golf industry including Datrek, Burton, and Devant.
Under Dynamic Brands ownership, Baby Jogger grew into the market leader in the mid to upscale stroller market while Bag Boy and Devant became two of the most respected brands in all of golf. In addition, the other golf brands have reestablished themselves as significant players in their respective categories. For 14 consecutive years, Dynamic Brands experienced dramatic top line growth while consistently earning substantial profits with very little leverage. The company’s products are sold in over 50 countries around the world.
In April 2012, Dynamic Brands sold Baby Jogger to The Riverside Company. In December 2012, Mr. Boardman sold his shares in Dynamic Brands to his managing business partner and is now actively looking to acquire or invest in new businesses.
Mr. Boardman graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor in Science in May 1991 from Virginia Commonwealth University. While there, he started all four years for the men’s golf team and was named to the 1990 Sun Belt Conference All-Academic Team.
Mr. Boardman is a member of the TowneBank Richmond Board of Directors, the Executive Advisory Board for VCU Athletics, and the Board of the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Richmond. He and his wife Audra live in Richmond, Virginia and have three children.
