Anthony Peay, Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer of Union Bank & Trust. Mr. Peay joined the Company in 1994 as Chief Financial Officer overseeing the financial accounting, treasury, investor relations and facilities management areas. In May of 2012 he was promoted to Chief Banking Officer and is responsible for the performance of the Commercial Banking Business in Union’s seven banking regions across the State of Virginia and its indirect auto lending division.
Prior to joining Union, he worked for Deloitte & Touche and its predecessor firms and held positions of increasing responsibility from staff auditor to senior audit manager. During that time Mr. Peay provided accounting, audit and consulting services to public and private companies with a focus on financial institutions and SEC companies.
Mr. Peay also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and most recently served two years as the Chairman of the Richmond LLS Light the Night Walk. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the YMCA of Greater Richmond and its Audit Committee. He has previous served on boards of various nonprofit organizations, including the Mechanicsville Jaycees, Church of the Redeemer, Atlee Little League and has been involved in leadership positions in numerous other community groups. Mr. Peay earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Virginia Tech in 1981 and is a certified public accountant (CPA).
